Day 3 [17th Apr]: Dalat Day Tour

Our third day began with us trying to look for breakfast and eventually succumbing to La Café De La Poste, which is affiliated to the hotel. The continental breakfast spread came up to 180,000 VND per person, which still isn't too expensive for a four star hotel.

After our quick breakfast, we went back to the hotel lobby to meet our tour guide for our private day tour. First item on the itinerary is a visit to Robin Hill with a brief introduction to Dalat and the minority tribes living in suburbs of the city. Surprisingly, the weather felt a bit hot under the glaring sun but it can also feel pleasant under shady areas. From the hill, we were able to see the city centre including our hotel and Dalat's miniature Eiffel Tower.

Next, we went to the cable car station and had a ride to Truc Lam Zen Monastery. During the cable car ride, we could see some amusing sights like trees "growing" out of houses. Our tour guide explained earlier that this was because the local goverment disallowed chopping down of trees in those areas. So, the locals had to use their imagination to build their houses around the trees. When we reached the monastry, we could  get a view of Tuyen Lam Lake. There are also beautiful gardens outside the monastry.

After enjoying the scenary, we headed for Datanla Waterfall and also took the mini roller coaster ride from the entrance to the sightseeing spot. It was quite tiring to climb up and down the steps to go to various parts of the waterfall and the roller coaster ride saved at least half the trip.

Next, we went to Bao Dai King’s Summer Palace, which is actually just 1 of the 3 palaces the king had in Dalat. There is one palace that is now popular for wedding photo shoots while the other one is where DuParc Hotel and Dalat Palace Hotel are located in.

After the palace visit, we had our lunch in Nha hang Nhu Y and it turned out to be our most expensive meal for this trip.

We went to Rừng Hoa Đà Lạt after our lunch and also Valley of Love which wasn't too far away.

We also went to Van Hanh Monastery and finally Dalat Railway Station before ending our day tour back in the hotel.

From our hotel, we walked to Dalat market again for some shopping and also for our dinner. I guess we were so engrossed in eating that we actually forgot to take some photos of the food.
