Dalat & Back to HCMC

On our last day in Dalat, we had a short walk outside the hotel before deciding to take a taxi to Lien Hoa for our breakfast. The famous Cock Church was quite near our hotel and I managed to get a close up shot of the cock on top of the building.

Day 3 [17th Apr]: Dalat Day Tour

Our third day began with us trying to look for breakfast and eventually succumbing to La Café De La Poste, which is affiliated to the hotel. The continental breakfast spread came up to 180,000 VND per person, which still isn't too expensive for a four star hotel.

Le Petite Paris de Vietnam

We arrived in Lien Khuong Airport about 1 hour later that the scheduled time due to the flight delay over in HCMC. The airport looked somewhat empty but there are quite a number of taxis waiting for customers outside. And I absolutely loved the cool weather! We paid 250,000 VND for a taxi coupon at the taxi kiosk and hopped on the taxi to DuParc Hotel.

 

Vietnam Trip 2014

I made a trip to Vietnam with two friends for a few days over the Easter week and we visited Ho Chi Minh City as well as Dalat. We flew by Vietnam Airlines to both destinations and our total airfare came up to be about SGD350. That's not too bad for a full-fledge airline. Overall, the fligth experience was quite ok except for the delays in the domestic flights.

Out first day started with our flight to Ho Chi Minh City from Singapore in the evening. We reached HCMC at around 7pm+ local time and took a taxi to our hotel to check in. I also managed to buy a prepaid SIM card at the taxi kiosk for 190,000 VND and it came with 600MB of internet data usage. It took us quite a while to locate Little Saigon Boutique Hotel as it was hidden deep inside a small lane even though it is city centre. The room is pretty small and nothing to shout about but it's just USD30 per double room right in the city centre.

Bangkok Trip [Part 2]

We started day 3 by visiting Madame Tussauds in Siam Discovery Center. It seems that they have a lot of props for photo moments over in this place compared to their counterpart in Hong Kong.

Bangkok Trip

I managed to grab air tickets to Bangkok during one of the Scoot's weekly promotions on a Tuesday. Fortunately, the earlier demonstrations have toned down and the bigger scale demonstration is from 13th Jan, so tourism is not much affected. After landing in Suvarnabhumi Airport, we spent quite some time queueing for the immigration customs. After clearing the customs, I managed to purchase a prepaid SIM card before leaving the airport via the City Line.

Day 5 [19th Dec]: Chimelong Safari Park

For my last full day, I was panning to visit Chimelong Safari Park in the morning and then go to Baiyun mountain in the late afternoon. When I reached Chimelong Safari Park, I was enticed to purchase the combo ticket which includes Chimelong Crocodile Park at just ¥30 extra. That obviously means that I had to give up the plan of visiting Baiyun mountain.

Day 4 [18th Dec]: Chimelong Resort

It's finally a full day of clear skies, so I headed my way to Chimelong Paradise as planned. After travelling on the metro for almost an hour, I reached Chimelong Resort area and walked to Chimelong Paradise, which is less than 200m away from the metro station.

Day 3 [17th Dec]: Guangzhou

According to the weather forecast, the rain will stop somewhere in the afternoon. So, I planned my day such that I will be least affected by the rain. I started by visiting 中山纪念堂. While it was quite a good photo spot from the outside, I wasn't that excited about the visit inside. It's more of a photo gallery with story-telling.
